Volunteer
The Transit Coalition draws its support from concerned
citizens like you. There are many ways you can donate your time
and resources to advance transit advocacy.
Meetings & Community Events
Volunteers are often needed at tabling events to explain Transit
Coalition positions and campaigns to interested citizens. We may
also need people to attend transit agency meetings to voice their
opinions, support or concerns about a specific item that would
be discussed. Additionally, volunteers can join us at briefings
with elected officials, business and community leaders, and transit
experts. Learn about upcoming opportunities.
Office Support
The Transit Coalition office in Sylmar is always in need of volunteers
to do data entry, fold newsletters, and prepare mailings.
Media Support
When a transit piece, whether an article, op-ed, or editorial,
appears on a newspaper, we need volunteers to respond with letters
to the editor and print their support of better mass transit.
We may also need people to write letters to key officials who
have the power to enact change in transit policy.
In-Kind Donations
On occasion, we may need equipment, services, or external help
relating to our advocacy work. Volunteers may donate such services
according to their capability.
Do you think you can help us out with any of these items? Then
specify how you can help us when signing up for our eNewsletter,
or contact us directly.
