In February 2011, The Transit Coalition announced its proposal for a unified rail transit corridor from Sylmar to Long Beach including a Sepulveda Pass rail tunnel. Specifically, it would fuse two Measure R projects into one to provide seamless travel between the San Fernando Valley, Westside and the South Bay regions. We call it the Jobs-Education-Medical Services Line for the services and job centers the line would connect. The project can provide a much-needed alternative to I-405 traffic.
