the last two decades, the Metro Rail system has grown in small
but subsantial steps. The opening of the Blue Line in 1990 reintroduced
Los Angeles to rail transit. However, much remains to be done
in expanding the system. The Transit Coalition works to
improve the existing system and meets with public and private
groups to find ways in expediting rail growth.
Metro is holding public meetings on the Regional Connector,
which would connect the Gold Line with the Blue and Expo Lines
through Downtown L.A. Learn
more about the project and how you can make your concerns,
support, or ideas heard!
Metro also continues to receive public comments on the Wilshire
Extension and the Crenshaw/Prairie
Corridors. Visit their respective websites for ways to
contact Metro officials.
