Transit: Connecting Communities
Welcome!
Here you will find good information on what is happening with trasportation, development, and growth projects in Riverside County. This on-going campaign project is designed for visitors, residents, and employees of the growing Inland Empire who know that a better quality of life is important, but don't know how to help make it happen.
Mission Statement:
The Transit Coalition is a broad based group of concerned citizens mobilized to passionately demonstrate community support for the economic development and continuing operation of improved transportation and quality of life.
Accomplishments in the Inland Empire:
- Provided colorful illustrated reports and maps on a continuing basis to local transit agency Board of Directors and at public meetings regarding various transportation issues.
- In conjunction with the efforts from the North San Diego County Transit Alliance, helped inspire the North County Transit District to staff the Escondido Transit Center SPRINTER Station with trained volunteer ambassadors to provide quality customer service for SPRINTER train riders headed to/from the AMGEN Tour of California.
- Met with elected officials and their staff in Washington DC, Sacramento and Southern California to discuss transportation funding.

The Transit Coalition President Dr. Ken Alpern M.D. assisted by Executive Director Bart Reed presiding over a typical dinner meeting at Philippe the Original discussing the improvement of public transportation in the Southern California region.
